Part 4-11 Matthew - Reaching All
Matthew 9:9-13
Ps Denis Lu
One person who had a bad reputation during Jesus’ time was Matthew. He is the same person author of the Gospel of Matthew. This sermon explores Matthew 9:9-13 where Jesus calls Matthew, a tax collector, to follow Him. demonstrating His heart for the outcast and sinner. We’ll reflect on how Jesus reaches all, inviting all to follow Him regardless of their past.
About this series
Jesus had many disciples. Large crowds followed Him, and He also had committed groups of men and women, including women who supported His ministry (Luke 8:3) and the 72 whom He sent out in pairs (Luke 10:1). However, the most famous and intimate group of disciples was the Twelve, whom Jesus chose after a night of prayer (Luke 6:12-13). These Twelve travelled and ministered with Jesus, were eyewitnesses to His ministry, and were commissioned as apostles (Luke 6:13).
In this series, we will examine how Jesus discipled the Twelve and how they responded to Him.
Through their lives, let us open our hearts to respond to God's call upon our lives to be His disciples.
