In Matthew's Gospel, Jesus is revealed as the King. Matthew brings about a radical re-interpretation of what it means to be a king. In the world, people are expected to die for their king. But here we have a king who dies for his people.
We will look at Jesus' trial, crucifixion and resurrection to understand why this king is no ordinary king. He is indeed the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
