God promised to send the Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of Truth, to be with us and in us forever (John 14:16-18). He knew we would need the Holy Spirit to empower us to accomplish all that He had for us (Acts 1:8). The Holy Spirit is our counsellor, advocate, and comforter.
